Famous for its mild climate, this quieter part of Cornwall has the outstanding gardens of Trebah, Penjerrick, Glendurgan and Carwinion all within 4 miles. For nature lovers and those who enjoy boats, the misty reaches of the Helford River meander upstream to Gweek, where the world-renowned Seal Sanctuary looks after the region’s many abandoned and injured seals. Falmouth, with its narrow streets, natural harbour and National Maritime Museum is just a short journey by car, while Flambards theme park (8 miles) and Argal Lake with its water sports attractions make great days out. The nearby beautiful Lizard Peninsula, with its outstanding beaches and quaint fishing villages dotting the rocky coastline, has the benefit of outstanding scenery, tranquillity, and some great walks.
