Visit the imposing 13th century castle, Criccieth Castle, which overlooks the beach from the rocky headland it sits on top of, walk up here to enjoy the amazing views of the bay and beyond. The town of Porthmadog is not far and has plenty to offer in the form of attractions, with a vintage steam railway, the Ffestiniog & Welsh Highland Railways, allowing you to enjoy a relaxing trip along 14-miles of narrow gauge tracks through the countryside, before returning to Porthmadog to find a quaint tea room or café to delight in. Another popular place is the tourist village of Portmeirion, an enchanting Italianate village on the North Wales coast offering a wonderful day out, with beautiful architecture and design around every corner, it boasts a real Mediterranean feel to it. Venture up into the Snowdonia National Park and take on the challenge of walking up Snowdon, with an incredible visitor centre at the top too, it's well worth it for the breath-taking views and scenery.
