It is a gorgeous place to explore Dartmoor's heritage and features one of the best clapper bridges in the country, which is said to have been built during the Middle Ages and would have likely replaced stepping stones to help packhorses cross the river. Postbridge is ideally situated to take advantage of a variety of activities. The area has great walking and cycling paths in the nearby Bellever Forest, as well as several archaeological relics such roundhouses, stone rows, and burial cysts. From here, you may also see the ruins of Powdermills, a 19th-century gunpowder factory that made powder for the nearby quarries and mines. This area is well-connected by car to well-liked tourist destinations like Okehampton and Plymouth, making it a getaway destination to savour.
