The property has private parking and an enclosed garden to the front. It is an excellent location to base yourself as you can walk down to the sea front and watch the fishing boats come in and land the catch of the day (that is then served in the village restaurant). Portmagee has much to offer, such as a village shop for all your daily food shopping and a post office, It boasts of two pubs which serve food daily. (Not forgetting the Guinness) The Bridge Bar, which serves bar food until 20:30 hours every evening, Breakfast is also served daily. The Mooring's Restaurant which is award winning, is open in the early evening until late in the summer months.(approximately end of March until the end of September). The Bridge Bar has traditional Irish music in the summer months and Irish set dancing and everyone is welcome to join in and soak in the atmosphere or just to sit and enjoy the CRAIC. Children are very welcome until 21:00 hours The town of Caherciveen has variety of shops and two large food supermarkets and restaurants, cafes and bars. Killarney is a very popular tourist town situated in the Ring of Kerry and is worth a visit. Portmagee has many great walks and cycling with spectacular views, fishing, scuba diving and deep sea fishing.. There are boat trips from Portmagee to the Skelligs Rock where the early Monks lived hundreds of years ago. This is available in the summer months. The Skelligs Experience which is worth a visit and gives a history of what life was like living on the rock. It is worth a visit to Valentia Ireland for more spectacular views. There is horse riding available in the summer months a short distance away from Portmagee. From here you can travel the surrounding area of Ballinskelligs and Waterville. It is worth taking a trip to the chocolate factory which is 5 minutes by car and tasting the delicious chocolate. Trips to see how the chocolate is made is also available by appointment. .
