Lough Key lies just outside Boyle with a superb wooded adventure centre, as well as pretty footpaths around the lakes, which take in the ruins of Rockingham House. Nearby Carrick-on-Shannon, a lovely riverside town, is internationally regarded as an angler's paradise and offers no less than four large fishing lakes within a 6 mile radius. With a wide variety of shops, pubs and restaurants in the town, this is an excellent choice for an Irish holiday.
