Llanharry has a church called St. Illtud, which was re-built in 1867-8, and two pubs, The Bear Inn, which was a school in the 19th century and The Fox and Hounds, known to date back to the Tudor times. Very close by are the historic villages of Llantrisant and Talbot Green. Set on a hilltop, Llantrisant offers visitors wonderful cobbled streets to wander and some fascinating buildings and Talbot Green has a variety of shops and restaurants. Just five miles away is the traditional village of Heol-y-Cyw, offering a church, rugby ground, pub and shop, and slightly further north is the town of Tonyrefail, which has selection of shops, pubs and churches. The small town of Bridgend is close by with its wonderful designer outlet village, so shopping sprees are a definite item to add to your days out, and within reach is Cardiff where shopping, theatre visits, rugby and football matches can be enjoyed.
