The local area is spoiled for choice in terms of excellent restaurants and bars as well as many amenities one would expect from a thriving seaside area, including two world-class golf courses, horse riding, sea sports, hill walking and fishing. Located on the Kerry Way and in the middle of an International Dark Sky Reserve, this cottage is approximately 2,600 sq ft, is a newly constructed, modern cottage built in the traditional style. Exceptionally constructed to best industry practices such as high-end insulation and concrete floors and walls throughout. The cottage comprises 4 bedrooms, three of which have large ensuite bathrooms (WC, power shower and basin) with one additional large bathroom (WC, separate large power shower, basin and bath). There are three bedrooms upstairs and one downstairs. There is a separate sitting room with a solid fuel stove. A large kitchen is in an open plan arrangement with a living space, complete with large solid fuel stove) and conservatory dining room. Downstairs and upstairs hallways are spacious. The upstairs hall has three large double velux windows which lets in enormous amounts of light. The hall area is complete with a reading, games and TV area. Wooden oak floors are laid throughout the cottage while the kitchen and utility areas are tiled with porcelain tiles. Each ensuite has underfloor heating. The downstairs ensuite which can also be accessed from the hallway is designed for increased accessibility with an electric shower in a “wet-room” layout. The kitchen is fully equipped with all that may be needed including ovens, gas hob, microwave, coffee machine, juicers, pots and pans, utensils, cutlery, dinnerware, glasses etc. There is also an outdoor wood burning pizza oven accessed off the conservatory in a walled-in enclosure, great for a family evening making and cooking pizzas and all sorts of food. The utility room has a sink, washing machine and dryer as well as storage areas and a back door. All bed linen is provided along with bath and hand towels for up to 8 guests. The cottage is heated via an oil-fired boiler. Hot water is via the oil boiler or an electric immersion heater. Oil and electricity is metered and charged at an additional cost to the rental of 1.50 Euro per litre and 31c per kWh. Ensuites benefit from electric underfloor heating as well as traditional radiators. Free WiFi is available as well as two TV’s, an X-Box and a set of electric drums. We built this home for our own use and have had many enjoyable weekends and breaks there.
