Description
** VIRTUAL TOUR AVAILABLE** DNG Martin O’Connor are delighted to present to market this deceptively large 4 bedroom detached property in the popular area of Bothar Bui in Carraroe, Co. Galway. Originally built in 1932 this 2-storey property was extended in 1964 and subsequently upgraded by the current owners. Situated on a quiet country lane, on a fine c. 0.52 acre site, the property enjoys fantastic countryside views and is located just 1.5 km from the village of Carraroe and all local amenities including shops, National School, library, health centre, hairdressers, pubs, church, and GAA club facilities. The property is also in close proximity to some of the West of Ireland's finest beaches, including that of Coral beach/ Tra an Doilin, known for its fine white coral and blue waters. A spacious sun porch give access to the properties accommodations. To the front of the property is a good sized living room with open fireplace and solid Canadian pine flooring. Across the hallway is the original dining room which basks in natural sunlight, the room has been shelved out and is currently used as a home office. This room would be ideally suited for use as second living area or play room, if required. To the rear, a lovely homely kitchen/breakfast room with feature raised solid fuel stove and utility room located off the kitchen. The carpeted wooden stairs ascends to the bright & spacious first floor landing. The property consists of 4 bedrooms, 2 spacious doubles and 2 good sized singles, all of which are located on this floor. There are also two bathrooms on this floor which are beautifully tiled in neutral tiling and timber clad ceilings. Externally, on the elevated site of circa 0.52 acres, the property basks in natural sunlight. The garden is awash with beautiful mature trees and shrubbery throughout and on entrance has a large garage with ample storage space. Carraroe is a thriving village in the heart of the Connemara Gaeltacht and within commuting distance of Galway City. This would make a lovely family home, or would also be ideally suited to those looking for a holiday home residence in Connemara. The primary and secondary schools in Carraroe are some of the largest outside of Galway city. NUIG (National University of Ireland - Galway) also has a branch of it's Irish department here, situated in the heart of the village (Aras Mhairtin Ui Chadhain). Carraroe is also serviced by Shops, Restaurants, Pubs, Hotels, Chemist, Library, Council Offices, Industrial Estate, Credit Union, Post Office, Laundry, Church, Garages, Nursing Home, Medical Centre, 24 hr Ambulance Service and Golf Course (3 miles). Some of Ireland's most beautiful unspoilt beaches can be found in Carraroe. Most noted would be 'Trá an Dóilin - the Coral Strand, located in an area of outstanding natural beauty and well known for its clear waters and is a popular beach for swimming and snorkelling. This beach is life guarded during the summer months. The fishing port of Rossaveal is just five miles away, the second largest fishing port on the western seaboard. Location
Carraroe is a lovely coastal village and derives its name from An Cheathrú Rua, the red quarter or the russet rocky land. It is a popular holiday area for Irish speakers being in the heart of the Connemara Gaeltacht and also attracts many visitors who come to appreciate the wonderful scenery in the area. Several of the early Christian sites in the vicinity have been associated with the saints of Aran but the area appears to have been inhabited at an even earlier age by prehistoric people.
